In Her Shoes: Rebecca Stevens

In Her Shoes: Rebecca Stevens

Beck Stevens is one of those warm souls who simply radiates happiness; it's infectious to all who are lucky enough to be in her presence. And it's also what makes her so captivating to watch as host of the Sydney Weekender.

We caught up with Beck to ask how her perceptions have changed since welcoming her first child, Presley, into the world and what she plans on conquering next...

Describe yourself using 5 words:

Christian, loyal, friendly, social, kind

What are you most passionate about?

Uplifting others and helping young people follow their dreams...

Your role as host for the Sydney weekender takes you all over the Emerald City. What are your favourite weekend hot-spots?

Well I LOVE Sydney’s Iconic Harbour bridge - my husband proposed under the bridge so it has a special place in my heart! Great memories! We are also lovers of The Rocks and the incredible restaurants and cafes.

You’re a recent new Mother to adorable Presley. How has motherhood changed your perspectives?

It’s difficult to put into words what motherhood has done for me but honestly I have now become very emotional! I’m so sensitive and can’t watch a Disney movie without crying [laughs]. I also have learnt not to judge other parents on their parenting ways as we all do things differently. It also makes you better at multitasking!

It’s the BEST thing I’ve ever done and I wouldn’t change the lack of sleep for anything!!!!! Seeing Presley’s smile and hearing his cute cackle is the most amazing thing in the world!

And as if modelling, styling, presenting and motherhood weren’t enough, you’ve also added executive producer to your list of talents! Tell us, how did the Australian feature film Chasing Comets come about?

My husband, Jason Stevens, was a former International Rugby League Player and after retiring he completed a writing course, then authored two books. He wrote his first feature film, Chasing Comets - a comedy drama - and it received releases in Hoyts Cinemas Nationally! It was an amazing journey to be a part of! I was one of the executive producers and enjoyed being on set every day- I also was the wardrobe manager for the film. He has written 8 other films so get ready to see more!

How would you define your personal style?

Comfortable - now that I’m a mum no more heels [laughs], relaxed and colourful!

What does your ideal weekend entail?

Being in the entertainment industry we LOVE movies, so definitely watching films and of course going to the beach with Presley! We love the outdoors! And COFFEE!

Which style has caught your eye from the current Sambag collection? Why?

The Snake Embossed leather sandal is perfect for summer. Perfect with a little white dress or denim - so versatile!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I’d actually love to design a children’s clothing range so I’m hoping that will be up and running! Also on my husband's film sets!

And finally, if you were a shoe, what type would you be?

I would be a wedged shoe; they are so comfy and being a mummy I don’t wear heels anymore [laughs] so they are the next best thing!
